We've been listening to your feedback and working hard to make Gigtime better. Version 1.1 is rolling out now across all platforms with a refreshed UI, a completely reworked notification system, and a long list of quality-of-life improvements.
Refreshed Interface
The biggest visual change in this release is a cleaner, more polished interface across the app. We've refined the layout, improved spacing, and updated components to feel more consistent across iOS, Android, web, and desktop.
- Invoice redesign — The invoice detail and creation pages have been restructured for better readability. Project sections, line items, and payment history are now easier to scan at a glance.
- Improved action menus — Context menus and action sheets now work consistently across all platforms, including better tablet support on iPad.
- Hour cap progress — Weekly and monthly hour cap indicators are now more prominent in project views, so you can see at a glance how close you are to your limits.
- Bulk service assignment — You can now assign services to multiple time entries at once, making it faster to categorize your work for invoicing.
Notification System Overhaul
Notifications got a complete rework in this release. The system is now more reliable, more configurable, and less noisy.
- Improved delivery — Push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging are now more reliable, with better device token management and registration handling.
- Notification drawer — The in-app notification center has been redesigned with better organization and easier bulk actions like mark-all-read and delete.
- Sync fixes — Fixed several issues where notification state could get out of sync between devices. Deleting or reading a notification on one device now reflects everywhere immediately.
- Email deliverability — We've moved notification emails to a dedicated address (notifications@gigtime.app) for better inbox placement and deliverability scores.
Feedback-Driven Fixes
A lot of this release came directly from user reports. Here are some of the key fixes:
- Crash fixes — Resolved several crash scenarios reported by users, particularly around edge cases in time entry editing and invoice generation.
- PDF generation — Major improvements to PDF invoice generation, especially on web. Special characters, custom fonts, and large invoices now render correctly across all platforms.
- Autocomplete improvements — The description autocomplete field now works more intuitively — Tab and Enter both apply the suggestion before submitting.
- Bulk entry assignment — Fixed an issue where bulk-assigning entries to a project could fail silently.
- Tracking reliability — Several fixes to ensure time entry tracking and timer sync work correctly in edge cases.
Coming Soon: App Language Support
We're adding full multi-language support to the Gigtime app. The first wave will include English, Spanish, French, and German, with the interface, date formats, and all user-facing text fully translated.
This is already in development and will be included in an upcoming release. If you'd like to help us improve translations or request an additional language, let us know.
