Pause, resume, and edits no longer crash after a timer was stopped elsewhere. Pausing, resuming, or changing the description of a timer that another device (or the 24-hour auto-stop) had just stopped could close Gigtime on Android. The app now tells you the timer was already stopped and refreshes.
Timer start no longer crashes. Tapping Start twice quickly, or starting a timer while another device was starting one, could close the app on Android. Gigtime now shows the timer that is already running and tells you it was started elsewhere.
Sign-in links no longer crash the app. Opening an email confirmation or sign-in link on a different device, or after the sign-in had expired, could close Gigtime on iPhone, iPad, and Android. The app now opens normally and you can log in as usual.
Pickers no longer crash after closing a form. On Android, pressing Back to close a time entry while its project list was still open, then choosing a project, could close the app. The choice is now ignored and the app keeps running.
Restart recent work from the timer. When no timer is running, a "Recent" line under the timer shows the last two things you worked on in the past two weeks, with their project or client. Tap one and the timer starts with the description, client, and project filled in. An Undo button on the toast cancels it if you tapped the wrong one. The line stays hidden while a timer runs and when there is nothing recent.
What's new in the app. The avatar menu, the More drawer, and Settings > About link to the new changelog at gigtime.app/changelog.
Recurring charges on projects. Bill a fixed amount every week, two weeks, month, quarter, or year without typing it in each time: software you pass on to a client, hosting, a retainer fee. Add it on the project's Billing tab. The invoice wizard lists each unbilled period, pre-ticked, and never offers a period twice. Free on every plan.
Invoice reminders, rebuilt (Pro). Every invoice now carries its own reminder switch and schedule on the invoice page: before the due date (14, 7, 3 days), on the due date, and after (3, 7, 14, 30 days). Each slot is marked scheduled, sent, or missed, and a "Send a reminder now" button sends one on the spot. Settings > Invoice holds only the defaults for new invoices. Sent reminders appear on the invoice's activity trail.
Locked Pro features stay visible. Free accounts now see reminders, scheduled reports, custom email domains, CSV export, and report date ranges in a locked state with a short note on what Pro adds, where before the control was missing.
Dashboard. The Today card fills its row so the three cards line up, and an empty day offers an Add Entry link.
Docs. docs.gigtime.app has search, a PRO pill on Pro-only pages, and new pages for recurring invoices, automatic reminders, and recurring charges. Custom email domains moved to docs.gigtime.app/invoicing/custom-email-domains.
Hour banks (Pro; Track only is free). Give a project a running balance of hours. Bill up to a monthly cap and bank the rest for a lighter month, sell a block of prepaid hours that roll over, or list hours on an invoice without charging for them. The invoice shows the opening balance, hours added, hours used, and the closing balance. Project > Edit > "How is this work billed?"
Hours for reference. The invoice wizard can include non-billable and $0-rate hours in their own "not charged" section with dates.
Recurring invoices (Pro). Repeat an invoice weekly, every two weeks, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. Gigtime drafts the next one on schedule and tells you it is ready.
Automatic overdue reminders (Pro, off by default). Settings > Invoice > Overdue reminders: pick the cadence and the maximum, and Gigtime emails the client's billing contact when an invoice goes past due. Pause per invoice.
Trial recap. Five days before a Pro trial ends, and when it ends, the dashboard and your inbox show what you tracked and invoiced with Gigtime and what Free keeps.
Custom email domains (Pro). A domain the provider stopped searching for stays in Settings with a Retry button instead of being removed. A domain that was working and lost its records is never removed automatically. The Email Domain card checks your DNS records itself and shows which are in place. Bounced invoice emails show in the invoice activity. Guide: docs.gigtime.app/invoicing/custom-email-domains
CSV import is free. Importing from AND.CO, Toggl, Clockify, Harvest, or any CSV no longer needs Pro.
Free plan, new accounts only. Accounts created from October 10, 2026 can create 10 invoices a month on Free. Drafts can always be sent, and the count resets on the 1st. Existing accounts keep unlimited invoicing.
Smaller changes. Archiving or restoring a client or project no longer waits 30 days on the free plan. Printing or downloading an invoice PDF is recorded in the invoice's activity trail.
Choose when forgotten timers stop. Settings > Time Tracking > Stop forgotten timers lets you pick 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours, or Never. The default stays at 24 hours, and the saved entry is still capped at your daily goal.
Timer reliability. If the server can't be reached when you press Start, Stop, Pause or Resume, Gigtime tells you and leaves your timer as it was, instead of crashing.
Stale screens. If a timer was stopped on another device, or stopped automatically after 24 hours, a screen that still shows it running resyncs and explains what happened when you tap it.
This update is about the moments around the timer.
Notes when you stop. Stop a timer that has no description and the saved entry opens right away, so you can write what the session was for, adjust the duration, or flip the billable switch. The entry is saved before the sheet opens, so nothing is lost if you close the app. Settings > Time Tracking > Review entry on stop controls when the sheet appears.
Forgotten timers stop themselves. A timer still running 24 hours after it started is stopped for you and saved on the day it started, capped at your daily goal. You get a notification with the saved duration.
Timer page notes are kept. Text typed in the description field on the Timer page is saved when you press Stop, even if you never pressed Enter.
Quieter inbox. The Monday weekly summary only goes out for weeks in which you logged time.
Plans. Annual is listed first on the web, a plan chosen on gigtime.app is pre-selected when you arrive, and both paid plans can be bought during the free trial.
Sign-in errors. When signing in with Apple or Google on the web fails, the login page shows the provider's message instead of sending you back to the form with no explanation.
